Pocket shrines were used by Catholic soldiers fighting in WWI and WWII. Although they have been around for many years, this one was most likely made around the turn of the century. Made out of orange Czech glass, it features a coffin-style opening lid containing a miniature infant Jesus of Prague, a 16th-century Roman Catholic depiction of Jesus. These are becoming harder and harder to come by and are such a treasure. To those who need to hold on to their faith, this makes a perfect and thoughtful gift for any history lover.
