A ring built to last the test of time. Platinum is one of the least reactive metals (it is also hypoallergenic!). It has remarkable corrosion resistance, even at high temperatures, and is therefore considered a noble metal. Platinum's strength made it ideal for setting geometrically cut stones and allowed jewelers to create fine filigree work and millegrain detailing, making platinum the perfect pair for Art Deco design. The term navette - interchangeable with marquise - comes from the French word for a weaver's shuttle, literally "little ship", and as such these rings are also sometimes referred to as boat rings. This Art Deco navette ring combines many great details found in Art Deco design, such as bold use of color and geometric design. In amazing shape for being over 100 years old, it's ready for another 100 more. Most likely of American origin.
