Retro 14k Two-Tone Gold and Diamond Band Ring

Two-tone 14k gold jewelry solved an ever-growing problem that was created in the war-torn 1940s. Due to WWII, platinum was rare and sometimes forbidden to sell, ending the platinum chokehold featured in the late 1910s -1930s. These wartime shortages and rationing led to ingenuity and creativity in jewelry design. Two-tone jewelry combined different colors of gold or white and rose gold to highlight the design, which also made jewelry more versatile: two-tone pieces could be worn with many different outfits.
