Budlong, Docherty & Armstrong (BDA) is a historic jewelry brand founded in 1943 in Providence, Rhode Island, by Frank Rhodes Budlong, Edgar Milton Docherty, and George A. Armstrong. The company originated from the William C. Greene Co., established in 1849, and was renamed BDA in 1905.
BDA became known for its rare, collectible jewelry—particularly cameo brooches, pendants, and rings—crafted from hand-carved carnelian or shell, 10K gold, silver, pewter, cultured pearls, and precious stones like sapphires, opals, and emeralds. This ring is a classic example of BDA.
